HEAR FROM COACH ZITZKE
"They were well organized defensively and had a difficult shell to break," head coach Jason Zitzke said referring to Saginaw Valley's defense. "They had a good counter-attack, but overall they were a hard team to break down."
"Everyone on the field for us had a good day and played hard," Zitzke added. "We had our chances and aside from not being able to put one away because of their defense, our team played well. Just shows the competition in the GLIAC once again."
"They were No. 22 and undefeated in the GLIAC Â just like us, but we'll get to see them again later in the season so that will be a good game as well," Zitzke stated.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities with Northern Michigan tallying 13 shots and the Rangers tabbing 22 on the match. Redshirt-junior Leki Prpa added crucial corner kicks in the final seconds of both overtime periods; however, after 110 minutes, the game remained scoreless, keeping both teams undefeated in the GLIAC.
STATWORTHY
Junior goalkeeper Juan Gonzalez had another clean sheet when the final whistle blew, making four saves. Redshirt-seniors Vic Vera and Petar Krecak each had five shots on the game, with junior Burim Huseini earning four shots. Rangers had nine total shots on goal for the match.

The Rangers will stay at Wood Road Field to take on Purdue Northwest on Friday, Sept. 28 and Davenport on Sunday, Sept. 30. Both games will start at noon.
