Ranger Volleyball Splits on Final Day of Indianapolis Tournament

Game 1, Parkside 3, Harding 2
THE COMEBACK
After the Rangers won the first set 27-25, Harding battled back to take sets two and three and take a 2-1 lead. Parkside knotted it up with a 25-18 win in set four and took the final set 15-10 to open day two of the UIndy Tournament.
 
WHO LED THE WAY
Lexie Calloway, who has been the kill leader for most of the matches this season, kept it up with 19 kills to lead the way offensively. Senior Elizabeth Mavis was all over the net on defense, finishing with 5.0 block assists and 1.0 block solo. Ann Leo finished with 33 digs while Katie Adams had 29 assists and 14 kills.
 
GOOD OPPONENT
The Rangers took down a team that came in at 4-2 overall and earned a win over No. 17 Colorado School of Mines. Harding went 3-1 to open the season at the Tarleton State Tournament.

SHOWING THE RANKING
Wheeling Jesuit, who came in ranked No. 12 in the nation, showed their ranking on Saturday after taking down Parkside in three straight sets (25-7, 25-17, 25-20). The Rangers got better in every set while battling the tough Cardinal squad.
 
A LOOK AT THE STATS
Lexie Calloway once again led the way in kills for the Rangers, finishing with seven. Katie Adams added five kills and a team-high 10 assists while tying with Ann Leo for the team-lead in digs with nine.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
The Ranger will open GLIAC play at No. 4 Ferris State on Friday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. They'll finish out the weekend at Northwood on Saturday and return home for the first time since August on Sept. 21 against Wayne State on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
