Ranger Women's Soccer Falls in Season Opener

Coach Nikolic Remains Positive About Potential Improvements Moving Forward

HEAR FROM COACH NIKOLIC
"We faced a quality opponent tonight who forced us to be better," head coach Brittany Nikolic said. "Our second half was much improved and I look forward to seeing us come out with that same hunger on Saturday."

"How we respond to a setback will determine a lot about what we can accomplish this season," Nikolic added.

Franklin Pierce 3, Parkside 0

HOW IT HAPPENED
Franklin Pierce brought the intensity to this evening's match and by the eighth minute the Ravens tallied their first goal of the season. After making a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, the Ravens are looking to retrace those steps this year after a strong opener. Goalkeeper Lara Ferrari held off the Ravens until the 38th minute in the first half when they scored for the second time to make it 2-0. The Ravens added one final goal in the 89th minute to end the game 3-0.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers compete against the Concordia-New York Clippers on Saturday, Sept. 1 to round out their weekend in Rindge, N.H. Parkside's home opener at Wood Road Field will come next Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m. against former GLVC foe Lewis.
