In game one,
Allison Hausl had it rolling, pitching the first 6.0 innings scoreless, but the Rangers were also held scoreless through the first six. In the top of the seventh, Parkside took a 1-0 lead thanks to
Morgan Sikon's first home run of the season, but the Bulldogs came right back and scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win it. Both runs came in on a two-run walkoff single immediately following a fielding error that would have ended the inning.
In game two, the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead after the first two innings with a run in each inning. The Rangers came back to tie it up, scoring a run in the top of the fifth off a
Kellie Fenza RBI single that plated Hausl and an RBI single by Hausl that scored
Jessica Miklos in the top of the sixth.
Truman State again was the last team to score, using an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead and went on to hold the Rangers in the seventh.
Parkside had six hits with Hausl going 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI while
Megan Aliverti and
Morgan Sikon went 1-for-3 each. Fenza finished 1-for-4 with an RBI while
Jessica Shields went 1-for-4 with a stolen base.
The Rangers return home this weekend, hosting Drury on Saturday at noon and 2 p.m. and Missouri S&T on Sunday at noon and 2 p.m. for Pink Out Day. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness at Sunday's game.
