In game one, the Rangers were hanging tough through six and a half innings, trailing 4-3 until the Hawks scored two in the bottom of the sixth and five in the seventh inning to pull away late.

After Quincy opened the game with a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Rangers tied it up 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning thanks to an RBI groundout by Widmar that scored Domenic Hammudeh and an RBI single by Justin Bennett that scored Troy Bittenbender. Quincy quickly jumped back on top with a two-run bottom of the fourth inning.

The Rangers made it a 4-3 ball game in the top of the sixth inning as Bennett drove in his second run of the game with a sacrifice fly to left field that again scored Bittenbender, who reached on a leadoff single. Parkside also got three runs back in the top of the ninth inning after two straight outs to open the inning. Kyle Schulz singled to center field to get things going for Parkside and Hunter Weddel reached on an error to put runners on the corners. Hammudeh brought both runners in on a two-run single to left field and Bittenbender followed that with a double to left field. Widmar singled to bring in Hammudeh, but a groundout ended the game 12-7.

In the opener, Bittenbender went 3-for-5 with two runs while Hammudeh went 1-for-4 with two RBI and three runs. The Rangers finished with 10 hits, but the Hawks had 12 hits and drew nine walks.

In game two, Quincy came out hot, scoring two runs in each the first and second inning, then really pulling away with a four-run second inning to take an 8-0 lead after three. While holding the Rangers scoreless throughout, Quincy scored a run in the fourth, three in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Schulz had a great game at the leadoff spot for the Rangers, going 3-for-3 while stealing two bases and drawing a walk as well. Parkside's fourth hit in the game came by Widmar.
