EVANSVILLE, Ind. – It was all Southern Indiana on Friday afternoon, as Parkside baseball dropped both games of its GLVC opening day to the Screaming Eagles. USI took game one wildly 34-9 then won the second game 7-0.

Parkside did take an early lead in game one, but USI pulled off four innings where they scored four or more, including an eight-run fourth inning and a seven-run eighth inning. The Rangers were outhit 25-15 and charged with seven errors in the game and allowed 11 extra base hits.
Nick Sramek had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs and two doubles while
Hunter Weddel went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Domenic Hammudeh went 2-for-5 with two RBI and
Troy Bittenbender finished 1-for-5 with two RBI.
In game two, USI jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings and scored four more in the final two innings while holding the Rangers to four hits. Sramek again was hot at the plate, going 2-for-3 while
Lovell Chandler went 1-for-3 with a double.
The Rangers and Screaming Eagles will finish out the series on Saturday, March 31 at noon and 3 p.m.
