Box Score ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Parkside softball team had a tough game to close out the weekend at the Rosemont Dome, as the Rangers fell at the hands of No. 19 ranked Winona State 10-2 Sunday afternoon.

The Rangers ended the weekend 2-3 to bring their overall record 6-7 this season. The Warriors, who improved to 7-2 and won their fourth straight game, got off to a hot start, taking a 6-0 lead after the first two innings, including a five-run second inning where Winona State capitalized on some Ranger miscues.

Parkside cut into the deficit in the bottom of the third inning, scoring a pair of runs to make it 6-2. Allison Hausl opened the inning with a single and after a fielder's choice, Kellie Fenza laid a perfect bunt single to put runners on the corners. Megan Aliverti hit an RBI groundout that scored Jessica Shields while Adrien Hall scored later in the inning thanks to a Warrior error.

Winona State got those two runs right back in the top of fourth, pushing the lead to 8-2 before tacking on one more run in each the fifth and sixth innings. Parkside finished with four errors in the game as just four of the 10 WSU runs were earned against Alyssa Hrncar.

Fenza had a great game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run while Aliverti went 1-for-4 with an RBI and Shields went 1-for-4 with a run and another stolen base, bringing her season total to an impressive 17.

The Rangers will head to Quincy, Ill. for a doubleheader next Friday, March 2 before facing Lindenwood in three straight games Saturday through Sunday in St. Charles, Mo.
