Box Score 2 ROSEMONT, Ill. – Day two at the Rosemont Dome featured plenty of action for Parkside softball, including both games ending in walkoff fashion. In the first game, the Rangers defeated Findlay 5-4 in nine innings off a
Morgan Sikon game-winning single, but the Rangers saw Ashland use a two-run bottom of the seventh inning in game two to suffer a 4-3 defeat.

In game one, Parkside was heading to the bottom of the seventh inning down 4-3 and scored the tying run off an error by the Findlay center fielder with two outs. After a scoreless eighth inning,
Kellie Fenza was placed on second base and
Megan Aliverti used a bunt single to push the winning run over to third. After a strikeout, Sikon delivered the game-winner, a single to left field that scored Fenza and gave Parkside the win.
Earlier in the game, the Rangers took a 2-0 lead after one inning thanks to an RBI double by Aliverti and an
Adrien Hall RBI single. Findlay grabbed the lead back with a three-run second inning. The Rangers tied it up at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth off a
Jessica Shields RBI single and Findlay took the lead back in the top of the seventh inning.
Alyssa Hrncar pitched a fourth straight complete game, going all 9.0 innings allowing four runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts. Hrncar was named the GLVC Pitcher of the Week last week.
Offensively, Shields went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and drew a pair of walks. Aliverti went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI out of the three-hole.
In game two, Parkside sent freshman
Kate Czoschke to the mound after a scoreless top of the first, but Ashland grabbed an early lead with two runs off the freshman. Parkside responded with a big three-run top of the fifth inning. With one out in the inning,
Jessica Miklos delivered the Rangers' first home run of the season and the first of her career, making it 2-1 Ashland. Later in the inning, Fenza ripped an RBI double that scored Shields and later came in the score on an error by the right fielder.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ashland saw both runners come in to score off three Ranger errors in the inning.
Fenza went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Miklos went 1-for-3 with the home run. Shields had another hit and stolen base at the leadoff spot.
Parkside will finish out the Rosemont Dome games on Sunday, with one game against Winona State at 11 a.m.
