KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Parkside women's basketball had a tough shooting night on the road Thursday night, resulting in a 71-40 loss to Truman State.

The Rangers were held to 21-percent from the floor and 5-of-26 from beyond the arc while the Bulldogs shot 50-percent. Parkside was effective at the free-throw line, going 9-of-10. 
It was all Truman State Thursday night, as the Bulldogs took the lead early and never trailed or let the Rangers tie the rest of the way. TSU took an 8-0 lead to open the game and ended the first quarter with a 17-8 lead. The Bulldogs kept it going in the second quarter, outscoring Parkside 17-4 and taking a 34-12 lead into the break. Asiah Lawson hit a pair of triples in the first half to lead the way for the Rangers offensively. The Rangers couldn't cut into the deficit in the second half, as Truman State held their lead above 20 the rest of the way. 
Ali Bettencourt led the way offensively for Parkside, going for 11 points and five rebounds while Lawson finished with 10 off the bench. Hayley Maystead finished with seven points and 10 rebounds. 
There is now just three games left in the season for Parkside, with the team finishing up this weekend on the road at Drury on Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m.
