Volleyball Falls to No. 6 Ferris State in GLIAC Quarterfinals

#6 FERRIS STATE 3, PARKSIDE 0
Ferris State came into the GLIAC Tournament ranked No. 6 in the nation after winning the GLIAC Regular Season, and they proved their ranking was no fluke, taking down the No. 8 seeded Rangers in straight sets (25-14, 25-10, 25-13) in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Parkside wraps up its first year in the GLIAC under first year head coach Leigh Barea with an 8-21 overall record and a 5-11 conference record.

HEAR FROM COACH BAREA
"It was a tough match tonight against one of the best teams in the nation," Barea said. "However, I could not be more proud of the team this year. They worked all year long tirelessly to become the best team they could be and it showed as they clinched a spot in the GLIAC Tournament. I can't thank our seniors enough for their leadership and hard work this season. We are going to miss them but they laid the foundation for Parkside volleyball in the future."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ferris State stayed tough all match long, using an 11-0 run in the first set to help get the win and take a 1-0 lead. In the second set, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back en route to the 25-10 victory. FSU closed the match out with a 25-13 third set, where the Rangers stayed tough in the early going, but the home Bulldogs pulled away in the end.

WHO LED THE WAY
The duo of Lexie Calloway and Katie Adams each had six kills to lead the way for the offense. Adams also had a team-high eight assists while Emma Habisch had six. Ann Led led the team with 13 digs while Adams added 12. The Bulldogs had a hitting percentage of .299 while the Rangers were at -.010.
