Volleyball Drops Five-Setter to Davenport, will Face Top-Seeded Ferris State

Parkside will face top-seeded Ferris State next Wednesday in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Davenport 3, Parkside 2
In Parkside volleyball's second five-setter of the weekend, the Rangers fell 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 25-13, 23-25, 15-10) to Davenport but still secured a spot in the 2018 GLIAC Tournament. Parkside will face the top-seeded Ferris State Bulldogs on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the quarterfinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside came out and grabbed the first set of the day 25-20 after holding a lead for nearly the entire set. The Panthers bounced back however, taking sets two and three before the Green & White evened things up at 2-2 with a fourth set win. In the fifth set, the Rangers led 8-5 before Davenport was able to score the next seven points and finished out the win. Parkside finished the match with more kills, blocks, assists and digs than the Panthers.

SENIOR DAY
Before the game, Parkside recognized its four seniors Katie Adams, Lyndsie Anders, Lexie Calloway and Elizabeth Mavis. Today's match was the last time these four suited up for the Rangers at DeSimone Gymnasium.

WHO LED THE WAY
Katie Adams, who set a career-high in kills in last night's win over Grand Valley State, tied her new career-high with another 22 kill performance to go along with 24 assists and nine digs. Lexie Calloway had 14 kills while Rachel Hedman had 13. Emma Habisch was the team-leader in assists with 27 while Ann Leo had 27 digs.
