Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Ohio Dominican Pulls Away from Men's Basketball

OHIO DOMINICAN 84, PARKSIDE 69
It was a close game throughout for Parkside men's basketball, but Ohio Dominican ultimately pulled away in the end for a double-digit win. It was a three-point ODU advantage at the 10:00 mark in the second half, but the Panthers kept extending their lead down the stretch. Three Rangers finished in double-figures while Brandon Hau had his second straight game with 10 rebounds.

HEAR FROM COACH REIGEL
"There is no question we are a work in progress.   We look good in spurts but lack consistency and that is pretty typical for a young team."

"I like the fight we have shown in both games.   As long as we continue to compete and learn from our mistakes we have the potential to be a good team."

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, the teams went back-and-forth trading leads in the first 5:00 minutes and kept that up the rest of the half. A layup inside at the 1:52 mark of the first half gave the Rangers a 31-30 lead, but a quick 5-0 run by ODU helped them to a 35-33 lead at the half. Both teams shot exactly 50-percent in the first half.

In the second half, Parkside was never able to grab the lead back from ODU, but had plenty of chances to tie the game. The last time the Rangers had a chance to tie the game was at the 8:55 mark after a D'Aaron Owens layup, but ODU followed that with a 7-0 run and didn't let the Green & White come closer than that.

WHO LED THE WAY
Owens led Parkside 18 points and also dished out three assists. Joey St. Pierre added 15 points and five rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting while Adam Bonk finished with 10 points. Brandon Trimble had eight off the bench and Brandon Hau had a game-high 10 rebounds.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers will have a nice break until Thursday, Nov. 29 as Parkside will host Grand Valley State in Blackout night. The first 500 students will receive a Defend The Den t-shirt. The women start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. in both team's GLIAC home opener.
