"Great job sticking to the defensive game plan and getting the shut out," head coach Brittany Nikolic said. "Obviously we weren't as sharp as we can be, but we still got a good result out of it."
"It's a big win and every win is important when it comes to conference standings," Nikolic added. "Hopefully it gives us some more confidence moving forward as we set our sights on a strong finish to the postseason."
HOW IT HAPPENED

After a stoppage for an injury, the Rangers were awarded a penalty kick, a result from the previous play. Senior Chloe Couves stepped up to take the shot. In the seventh minute, Couves put Parkside on the scoreboard, her fifth goal of the season. The game would remain 1-0 until the final whistle.
STATWORTHY

Junior Adrianna Bratel was back in the goal for the Rangers for the first time after being out for five months due to an ankle injury. Bratel tabbed seven saves on the game and earned her first shutout of the season. Both Parkside and Northwood tallied double digits for fouls, with the Timberwolves earning 15 and the Rangers with 17. Couves lead the team with two shots and redshirt-senior Kayleigh Moore and junior Maycee Kroening followed behind, each with one shot. One yellow card was handed out to a Timberwolves player in the 76th minute.
 
The last time the Rangers posted a shutout this season was on Sept. 1 against Concordia-New York when they beat the Clippers 3-0.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Rangers play at home this Sunday, Oct. 7 at noon against Ferris State. This is the Rangers Pink Game and they are playing to raise awareness for breast cancer.
