Red-Hot Shooting Leads to 82-74 Win for Men's Basketball

SOMERS, Wis. – Parkside men's basketball had a monster second half on the road against Missouri S&T Saturday afternoon, leading to an 82-74 win on a day where the Rangers connected on 16 3-pointers.

Parkside, who have now won two straight games, came out of the gates hot, jumping out to a huge 14-2 lead that included treys by Jameel Moore, Adam Bonk, Ramar Evans and Espen Fjaerestad. The Miners responded, taking a 22-19 lead and holding on to the lead for the rest of the first half en route to a 42-36 lead at the half. In the second half after a Miner dunk, Parkside rattled off a 7-0 run to make it a 1-point game at 44-43. The Green & White tied it at 50-50 and 54-54 before grabbing its first lead of the second half off a Fjaerestad 3-pointer with 9:24 to play, this being a 57-54 lead. The Rangers then used a 12-4 lead to take a 69-58 lead with 5:07 to play and held onto the lead the rest of the way.

The Rangers shot 16-of-27 from beyond the arc, as Bonk finished 7-for-11, Fjaerestad went 4-for-7 and Evans went 2-for-3. Bonk led all scorers with a career-high 21 points while Fjaerestad had 18 and Goran Zagorac had 15 and nine rebounds. Evans went for 12 points and six assists.

The Green & White will look for its third straight win as Bellarmine comes to town on Saturday, January 13 for a 3 p.m. game. Parkside will now have four straight home games.
