SOMERS, Wis. -- The UW-Parkside women's basketball team fell 93-65 to Bellarmine Saturday afternoon at DeSimone Gymnasium, where the Knights dominated from beginning to end. Parkside will look to bounce back with three straight home games over the coming week.

Parkside went down to Bellarmine 20-15 after the first quarter, where the Knights used a short 5-0 run to end the quarter. after the teams were tied up 15-15. The Knights went into the locker-room at half with an 11-point lead due to a push in the last 8:00. The Rangers came out in the second half looking to battle back, but the Knights incredible shooting percentage of 73.1-percent in the second half stopped any chances of a Parkside comeback. The Knights outrebounded the Rangers 41-26 and finished shooting 60.7-percent from the field.
The Rangers were led by junior guard
Ali Bettencourt, who scored 13 points on the day.
Carolina Rahkonen ended with 11 points and six rebounds while
Hayley Maystead and
Alisha Murphy added seven. Bellarmine's Raven Merriweather led all scorers with 25 points.
The Rangers will return to action on Jan. 15 facing Lewis at home inside DeSimone with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
