SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Wisconsin-Parkside posted dominant victories over Truman State and Drury to claim the inaugural Great Lakes Valley Conference wrestling championship on Saturday at Drury.
The Rangers opened the day with a 48-6 victory over Truman State and then defeated Drury 36-3 to claim the GLVC Championship. Wisconsin-Parkside went undefeated in its first season of GLVC competition as the Rangers finished the conference slate with a perfect 6-0 record.
In addition to the team championship, junior
Nick Becker established a Wisconsin-Parkside school record with his 59th consecutive victory. Becker went 41-0 last season in winning the national championship and is 18-0 this season. He broke the record in fashion as he pinned Quintin Bisbey of Drury in 39 seconds.
Wisconsin-Parkside, which improved to 13-2 in dual meets this season, recorded six wins by fall in the 48-6 win against Truman State.

James Lehman all notched victories by fall for the Rangers.
The Rangers then secured the GLVC title with a 36-3 win over Drury. Becker and Lehman won by fall and Furseth, Robertson, Anthony and
Matthew Stopka all won decisions.
Wisconsin-Parkside will take its first step towards an NCAA Championship when the Rangers participate in the NCAA Regionals on Feb. 24-25 in Indianapolis.
