FORT WAYNE, Ind. –
Ronzel Darling,
Nick Becker and
Montrail Johnson each posted a 2-0 record leading Wisconsin-Parkside to a third-place finish at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals on Friday in the Fort Wayne Convention Center.

The Rangers began day two of the tournament against top-ranked St. Cloud State. The Huskies won seven of the 10 weight classifications to down the Rangers 27-9.

Darling beat Brett Velasquez, the top ranked wrestler in the nation, 3-2 at 125 pounds, while Becker topped Clayton Jennissen 8-2 at 174 pounds and Johnson beat Uthman Rabiu 8-1 at 184 pounds for the Rangers points against St. Cloud State.

Wisconsin-Parkside bounced back to capture third place in the tournament with a convincing 30-13 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo.

Darling,
Derek Gill,
Brett Scoles,
Josh Anthony, Becker, Johnson and
James Lehman all recorded victories for the Rangers against Colorado State-Pueblo.

Wisconsin-Parkside improved to 5-1 in dual meets with the split of its two matches on Friday.

Wisconsin-Parkside will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 14) when it hosts the Ranger Duals.
