ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 3, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team lost three straight sets (25-9, 25-19, 25-21) to Southwest Minnesota State University in their final match at the Flyer Festival hosted by Lewis University.

The first set started off with both teams trading sideouts, but with a 7-5 lead, the Mustang (3-1) went on an 18-4 run and won the set 25-9. The Rangers (1-3) fought to get their first lead in the match in the second set (7-6) and three 3-0 runs, but they fell 19-25. UW-Parkside took the lead in the third set four different times, but after the score was tied 19-19, Southwest Minnesota went 6-2 the rest of the way and clinched the match 25-21.

Lauren Hickson led the team with 22 assists, and
Annie Leo had a team high 12 digs.Â
Lexi Calloway,
Rebecca Roembke, and
Leah Fenske had 7 kills each.

The Rangers will return to the court when they host the UW-Parkside Tournament starting on Friday, Sept. 9 taking on Upper Iowa University and Minnesota State University Moorhead at 2pm and 6:30pm respectively, inside DeSimone Gymnasium.
