Taylor Burek netted her first goal of the season, but No. 25 Bellarmine scored a pair of goals in each half on its way to a 4-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday ending the Rangers four-match winning streak.
Burek scored her first goal of the season on a Rangers corner kick.
Abigail Banks took the corner for UW-Parkside and Burek headed the ball past goalie Taylor Smith getting the Rangers on the board at the 76:37 mark of the second period.
Bellarmine, which improved to 6-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the GLVC, jumped out to an early lead against the Rangers when Mary Beth Gorham collected a rebound and put it past
Adrianna Bratel for a 1-0 lead.
The Knights extended the lead to 2-0 when Olivia Taylor scored her fourth goal of the year on a loose ball following a corner kick in the 28th minute.
Audrey Van Der Elst made it 3-0 on a header in the 58th minute of the second period.
Wisconsin-Parkside, which fell to 4-3-1 overall and 4-2 in conference play, got on the board on the goal by Burek to cut the lead to 3-1.
Bellarmine added a late goal in the 89th minute.
Wisconsin-Parkside returns to Wood Road Field on Friday (Sept. 30) for a 2:30 p.m. GLVC match against Illinois-Springfield.
