Women's Soccer Pushes Winning Streak to Four Straight

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Senior Taylor Schiffer-Jander scored a second-period goal and Adrianna Bratel posted a shutout in goal as the Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team extended its winning streak to four straight with a 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory at Southern Indiana on Friday at Strassweg Field.

Schiffer-Jander scored her first goal of the season at the 65:36 mark of the second period on a shot from the top of the box giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead.

Bratel faced four shots and made one save in recording her second shutout in as many appearances on the season. Bratel was in net when Wisconsin-Parkside tied Minnesota State-Mankato 0-0 on Sept. 4.

Wisconsin-Parkside, which improved to 4-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the GLVC, outshot the Eagles 20-4 but USI goalie Courtney Lofland made nine saves to keep the match close.

Jillian Hetfleisch led the Rangers with six shots, while Lexi Porter had two shots. Schiffer-Jander, Brooke Munroe and Jazmin Castanon each added two shots for UWP.

The Rangers will seek to extend their winning streak to five straight when they face Bellarmine at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 25).
