SOMERS, Wis. --
Jillian Hetfleisch and
Brooke Munroe each scored goals and Wisconsin-Parkside extended its winning streak to three straight with a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Drury on Sunday at Wood Road Field.
Hetfleisch and Munroe each scored in the first period, which was more than enough for Ranger keeper
Kayla Tabalske who made six saves in producing a clean sheet.
Wisconsin-Parkside (3-2-1. 3-1-0 GLVC) dominated play throughout the match as the Rangers held a 23-7 advantage and had eight corner kicks to just one for the Panthers.
Munroe got the Rangers started early in the first period. Her header at the 12:14 mark of the first period, off a corner kick from
Chloe Couves, beat Tina Haberberger and gave UWP a 1-0 lead.
Hetfleisch extended the lead to 2-0 at the 21:00 mark of the first period when she beat Haberberger in the lower left hand corner of the cage.
Hetfleisch and
Lauren Bialas each had six shots to lead the Rangers offensive attack, while
Lexi Porter added four shots and
Vianey Hernandez had two shots.
Drury dropped to 2-3-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play with the loss.
The Rangers will seek to extend their winning streak to four straight on Sept. 23 when it visits Southern Indiana for a GLVC match at 5 p.m.
