LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Apr. 9, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball team was undermined by a pair of big innings during Saturday's Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader, falling 6-0 and 5-0 to host Bellarmine University at Knights Field.

All six of the homestanding Knights (23-21, 12-8 GLVC) runs in the opening game were unearned, pouring on five in the top of the second inning before pushing across another score in the fourth to finalize the scoreline.

The Rangers' (4-31, 1-18 GLVC) Carly Dundee absorbed the loss, striking out two while allowing seven hits and no earned runs in the complete game effort. BU's Ally Foster secured the victory, fanning 10 and yielding just four hits in the seven-inning shutout.

In the nightcap, the game was scoreless until the sixth inning when a leadoff walk followed by a Foster double gave the host Knights the 1-0 edge. Bellarmine padded its advantage in the top of the seventh, collecting six hits and piling on four runs for the final 5-0 scoreline.

Amber Ramos suffered the loss, striking out three and allowing just one earned run in 5 2/3 innings of work while Foster secured her second win of the day inside the circle, striking out four in the 3 2/3 innings of relief work to ensure the BU sweep.

Parkside batted second as the "home team" in both contests as the twinbill was originally slated to be played at the Case Complex in Somers, Wisconsin before inclement weather forced the doubleheader to be relocated to Louisville.

UW-Parkside is back on the diamond on Sunday, facing the University of Southern Indiana in a twinbill beginning at 12 p.m. in Evansville.
