(Apr. 1, 2016)-- Dylan Tye went the distance on the mound, striking out nine in the complete game shutout as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside baseball team steamrolled in-state foe Northland College 9-0 on Friday in a non-conference affair at Augie Schmidt Field.

Jake Kolasinski groundout plated
Zach Thompson for the game's first run in the first inning while a
Nick Sramek triple in the second brought in
Bobby Neylon for the early 2-0 edge. The Rangers (4-15) poured on four runs in the fourth inning, receiving RBI hits from Sramek,
Kyle Schulz,
Troy Bittenbender, and
Kyohei Makita.

A throwing error and a sacrifice fly brought in two more UW-Parkside runs in the sixth before a Makita outfield single plated Schulz in the eighth extended the home side's lead to 9-0.

UW-Parkside belted out 15 hits during the game with
Nick Janssen and Makita both collecting three hits while Sramek and Schulz notched a pair of hits, apiece.

Tye yielded just three hits and two walks while fanning nine in the nine-inning shutout effort. His counterpart, Ernie Robrecht surrendered six earned runs and 10 hits in four innings of action for the Division III Lumberjacks (5-9).

The Rangers return to the diamond on Saturday, taking on Saint Joseph's College in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
