(Mar. 6, 2016)-- Just a day removed from etching out a one-run victory, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside baseball team ended up on the opposite end of similar scoreline on Sunday, falling 2-1 to Rockhurst University in the non-conference series finale at Lenz Field.

The Hawks (4-4) pushed across the game's opening run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning. A leadoff single followed by a double increased Rockhurst's advantage to 2-0 in the sixth.

The Rangers (3-4) got on the board in the seventh inning with an
Andrew Luscomb groundout scoring
Nick Sramek who led off the frame with a single to center field. UW-Parkside had the potential winning run at the plate in both the eighth and ninth innings but was unable to punch through in the one-run setback.

Jake Kolasinski and Sramek led the Ranger offense, each collecting a pair of hits.

Nate Stolte absorbed the loss on the mound, tossing 5 1/3 innings and allowing two earned runs.
Matt Skarzynski and
Cody Rolshoven combined for 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Despite the loss, UW-Parkside comes away with the series win after sweeping Rockhurst 9-1 and 3-2 on Saturday.
