St. Cloud, Minn. (Feb. 13, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball squad dropped both games of their doubleheader to St. Cloud State University by the scores of 5-4 and 5-3 respectively inside the Husky Dome.

In the first game, the Rangers (0-4) started off the scoring in top of third when starting pitcher, Carly Dundee hit a three-run blast to right field.  In the bottom half of the inning, the Huskies (6-2) answered with four runs of their own off of five hits.  Dundee returned to the plate in the seventh inning, hitting a solo homerun to tie the game at four a piece.  With two outs in the bottom of the seventh and a runner on third, St. Cloud State hit a game winning single, edging out Parkside 5-4.

Rachel Seefeldt went 3 for 3 from the plate in game number one.  Carly Dundee (0-2) pitched the complete game with five strikeouts and no walks.  Paige Schmittling and Dundee both went 2-4 in the game.

Parkside opened up the scoring in second game with Raegan Fingerman hitting a single that scored Paige Schmittling from second base.  The Huskies tied the game in the bottom of the first with a run of their own.  St. Cloud State would add to their lead with a two-run third inning.  The next inning Rachel Seefeldt hit a two-out two-run shot to right field, and that tied up the game 3-3.  St. Cloud State took the lead in the bottom half of inning number six, hitting a solo home-run and then tacking on an additional insurance run.  The Huskies shut down the Rangers in the top of the seventh and walked away with the 5-3 win.

Amber Ramos (0-2) took the loss, pitching five and a third innings, with Bridget Jost coming on in relief in the bottom of the sixth.  Emily Bell and Paige Schmittling both had two hits and each scored a run.
