LIBERTY, Mo. -- Senior
Rebecca Roembke led four players in double figures in kills with 18 leading Wisconsin-Parkside to a 18-25, 26-24, 27-25, 27-25 victory over William Jewell in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match on Saturday at the Mabee Center.
With the victory, Wisconsin-Parkside improved to 12-14 overall and 8-5 in the GLVC. The win vaulted the Rangers into sole possession of third place in the East Division, one game ahead of Indianapolis who lost to Quincy 3-0. The top three teams from the East and West Division along with the two teams with the next two best records qualify for the GLVC Tournament.
Roembke led the Rangers with 18 kills, while
Katie Adams had a season-high 16 kills.
Kasey Davis added 13 kills and
Lexi Turek finished with 12 kills as the Rangers showcased a balanced offensive attack.
Roembke and Davis each posted a double-double in the victory. Roembke and Davis each finished with 13 digs for the match.
Freshman
Annie Leo led the Wisconsin-Parkside defensive effort as she recorded a career-high 33 digs for the Rangers.
Senior setter
Lauren Hickson added 56 assists and eight digs, while Turek led the Rangers with five blocks.
William Jewell, which dropped to 11-15 overall and 4-9 in conference play, was led by Paige Cunningham who had 15 kills.
Wisconsin-Parkside, which has won six of its last eight matches overall, will return to action on Friday (Nov. 4) when it hosts Quincy in a GLVC match at 7 p.m. in DeSimone Gymnasium.
