AURORA, Ill. -- The Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team had its three-match winning streak halted by Northwood on day two of the Mizuno Midwest Region Crossover Tournament on Saturday in the Great Lakes Center.
The Rangers fell to the Timberwolves 31-29, 28-26, 25-19 in Wisconsin-Parkside's final match of the tournament. Wisconsin-Parkside finished the tourney with a 2-1 record having won both of its matches on Friday.
Leah Fenske led the Rangers with a match high 15 kills, while
Rebecca Roembke had 12 kills and nine digs.
Kasey Davis added seven kills and eight digs and
Lexi Turek finished with six kills, six digs and five blocks.
Senior
Lauren Hickson directed the Ranger offense and had 38 assists and also added four kills and four digs. Freshman
Annie Leo paced the Rangers with 14 digs.
Northwood was led by Allison Getty who had 14 kills and 14 digs, while Carson Rutherford had 12 kills for the Timberwolves. Northwood posted a .328 attack percentage for the match, while limiting the Rangers to a .197 percentage.
Northwood, which concluded the tournament with a 3-0 record, improved to 12-7 overall on the season. Wisconsin-Parkside slipped to 9-13 overall for the year.
Wisconsin-Parkside returns to play on Friday (Oct. 21) when it hosts Illinois Springfield in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match beginning at 7 p.m. in DeSimone Gymnasium.
