The Peacocks (1-0) opened the scoring in the 35th minute with Rhys Williams converting a penalty kick as the hosts maintained a one goal edge at the halftime intermission.

Upper Iowa doubled its lead in the 66th minute with Greg Marshall scoring before the Rangers (0-1) responded with a goal from
Ryan Shogren in the 70th minute off assists from
Evan Garcia and
Jaime Colin. UIU added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute from Blair Lyons en route to the 3-1 victory.

Nate Kitchell made three saves in his debut in goal while Upper Iowa's Connor Rortvedt collected a pair of saves.

The Rangers open up their home slate on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., welcoming 18th-ranked Saginaw Valley State University to Wood Road Field.
