(Sept. 30, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad hit the road on Wednesday night for a rare midweek exhibition contest, collecting a 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22) victory over host University of Saint Francis.
The visiting Rangers tallied an opening set victory, rallying from an early deficit and finishing the set on a 10-5 run to earn the 25-20 victory.
In set two, the score was deadlocked at 8-8 before the Rangers scored the next three points off a
Rebecca Roembke kill, a bad set by the Saints, and a
Jessi Mainczyk service ace, prompting at USF timeout. UW-Parkside continued to apply the pressure, staking a 17-11 lead en route to the 25-19 win.
The host Saints stole the third set 25-20 before the Rangers wrapped up the exhibition win with a 25-22 decision in the fourth and final set.
Jackie Langer finished with a match-high 17 kills while also adding 15 digs on the defensive end. Roembke turned in 16 kills while
Lauren Hickson and
Katie Adams finished with 23 and 22 assists, respectively.
Jeni Heller posted four blocks while
Meghan Conley added a team-high 16 digs.
The Rangers resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday, hosting East Division nemesis University of Indianapolis at 7 p.m. inside DeSimone Gymnasium.
