(Sept. 27, 2015)-- Surrendering three goals in the second half derailed the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-3 to Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Maryville University at Wood Road Field.

After a pair of shots ricocheting off the post, the Rangers (2-5-1, 1-4-1 GLVC) finally broke through in the 19th minute with
Jillian Hetfleisch netting her second goal of the season off an assist from
Macy Gassner. The visiting Saints (4-3-1, 3-2-1 GLVC) quickly leveled the score with Amanda Wiechens finishing the back of the net just 75 seconds later.

UW-Parkside struck again in the 28th minute with
Vianey Hernandez scoring off a Hetfleisch feed as the hosts enjoyed a 2-1 lead at the halftime intermission, owning a 14-5 advantage in shots.

The Ranger lead swelled to 3-1 just under two minutes into the second stanza with Hernandez notching her third goal of the 2015 campaign off a pass from
Lexi Porter.

Shannon Foley brought Maryville within one goal in the 55th minute while Hana McGinis tallied the equalizer in the 62nd minute and the game-winner in the 79th minute as the Saints escaped with the come-from-behind victory.

Ranger goalkeeper
Sarah Dobrowolski tallied four saves in 90 minutes of work while Maryville's Bailey Doerflinger earned the win after turning away six shots on the afternoon.

The Rangers return to the pitch on Friday, traveling to downstate Illinois to face McKendree University with kickoff slated for 5 p.m.
