SOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 25, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team tallied a late equalizer to force overtime but was unable to break through in extra time, settling for a 2-2 double overtime draw against Great Lakes Valley Conference rival University of Missouri-Saint Louis on Friday at Wood Road Field.

The Rangers (3-3-1, 3-1-1 GLVC) seized the early lead in the 12th minute after Evan Garcia converted a free kick from just outside the box. The visiting Tritons (3-3-1, 2-2-1 GLVC) leveled the score in the 32nd minute with Nick Cherry slipping the ball past the keeper on a header off a free kick.

The two sides entered the halftime break deadlocked with UMSL owning a 12-3 edge in shots.

The Tritons grabbed their first lead of the afternoon in the 74th minute off a shot from Tyler Collico but another Ranger free kick set up the late equalizer with Philipp Koehler tying the game in the 83rd minute off a ball served in from Scott Nicolai.

UW-Parkside had a chance midway through the first overtime on a counterattack but the ensuing shot sailed high. The Rangers collected five of the six shots taken in the two 10-minute overtime sessions and the two squads finished the match with 18 shots apiece.

Remi Bibal made three saves in 110 minutes of action while his counterpart, Jack Filla, had an identical stat line.

The Rangers continue their homestand on Sunday, taking on Maryville University at 2:30 p.m.
