(Sept. 20, 2015)-- An early goal was not enough to escape Bulldog Park with a win on Sunday for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team, stumbled 2-1 to host Truman State University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The visiting Rangers (2-3-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) struck early with
Jillian Hetfleisch collecting her first goal of the season in the eighth minute, beating the keeper after grabbing the rebound off
Taylor Schiffer-Jander's initial shot on goal.

The lead proved fleeting with the host Bulldogs (3-1-3, 2-0-2 GLVC) equalizing in the 14th minute courtesy of a Stephanie Williams shot before seizing the lead in the 36th minute on a Laura Ney shot off a corner kick.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half, with Truman owning a 9-4 edge in shots during the final 45 minutes of play. The Bulldogs ended the contest with an overall 18-13 edge in shots and a 6-5 edge in shots on frame.

Sarah Dobrowolski made four saves in 90 minutes of action while her counterpart, Katie Mattingly, made four stops to tally the win.

The Rangers return home to Wood Road Field on Friday, hosting the University of Missouri-Saint Louis at 1:15 p.m.
