(Sept. 18, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad went toe-to-toe with ninth-ranked and host Quincy University on Friday night before ultimately succumbing 3-2 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Legends Stadium.

The host Hawks (4-1, 3-0 GLVC) struck first in a high-octane opening half with Taylor Reis scoring from five yards out in the seventh minute. UW-Parkside (2-3, 2-1 GLVC) quickly equalized in the 11th minute with
Jaime Colin collecting his first collegiate goal, beating the keeper from 20 yards out off a feed from
Eric Moser.

Quincy answered with a Jordan Stephens goal in the 36th minute and an Eddie Plesha score 33 seconds before halftime to seize a 3-1 lead. The Rangers cut the deficit to just one just seconds before the halftime intermission with
Ryan Shogren converting his second penalty kick in as many games.

Neither squad was able to penetrate the goalmouth in the second half with the hosts holding on for the 3-2 win. QU held a 15-11 edge in shots, including 10 of the 14 shots taken on frame.

Remi Bibal logged all 90 minutes between the posts for the Rangers, making seven saves while Quincy keeper Nate Griffin tallied two saves to claim the win.

The Rangers return to the pitch on Sunday, taking on Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with kickoff slated for 12 p.m.
