KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 5, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball squad seized control early and never looked back on Thursday evening, winning a program-record 10th straight Great Lakes Valley Conference game by disposing Rockhurst University 70-51 inside Mason-Halpin Field House.

The host Hawks (8-12, 2-10 GLVC) tallied the opening five points of the game but the Rangers (17-4, 10-2 GLVC) answered with the next eight points, including four from Jennifer Blunt to seize the lead. UW-Parkside's buffer increased to six points but Rockhurst battled back, tying the game at 14-14 off a Kendall Hart layup with 11:17 left in the opening half.

Blunt broke the deadlock with a layup of her own, touching off a 6-0 Ranger spurt. Parkside never trailed the rest of the way, enjoying a 33-24 edge at the halftime intermission.

UW-Parkside enjoyed a double-digit lead nearly the entire second half, cruising to the 19-point win for the squad's recording setting 10th consecutive GLVC victory. The Rangers' previous best streak was nine straight from Jan. 26 to Feb. 23 during the 2011-2012 season, culminating with a GLVC East Division crown.

Gaby Bronson netted a double-double, pacing the Rangers with 20 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds while hitting seven of her nine shots from the field. Blunt contributed 14 points while Stephanie Furr and Tara Knapstein each added 10 points.

Lauren Meyers powered the Hawks with 13 points and eight boards while Mary Dineen finished with nine points.

UW-Parkside shot 50 percent (29-for-58) from the field while holding Rockhurst to shooting just 29 percent (18-for-62), including a paltry 7.7 percent (one-for-13) from beyond the arc. The Rangers additionally held a 44-35 rebounding advantage.

The Rangers return to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon, facing William Jewell College at 12 p.m. in Liberty, Missouri.
