(Oct. 18, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team was unable to pull away from Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Missouri University S&T on Sunday afternoon, settling for a 1-1 double overtime draw at S&T Soccer Field.

The Rangers (5-7-2, 4-6-2 GLVC) drew first blood with
Vianey Hernandez scoring her team-leading sixth goal 98 seconds before the halftime intermission.
Lexi Porter provided the assist, her third of the year as Parkside enjoyed a 1-0 lead on the host Miners (1-11-2, 0-10-2 GLVC) at the break.

Missouri S&T leveled the score in the 65th minute with Mikaela Mockenhaupt tapping the ball into the back of the net off a serve from Catherine Hawn. Neither team was able to tally another score in the final 25 minutes of regulation, forcing sudden death overtime.

Each team ripped off two shots over the course of the two 10-minute overtime sessions but neither squad was able to penetrate the goalmouth, settling for the stalemate.

UW-Parkside finished the contest with a 17-13 advantage in shots, including a 6-4 edge in shots on goal.

Sarah Dobrowoski played all 110 minutes in goal, making three saves while her counterpart, Carrie Levy, stopped five shots on the afternoon.

UW-Parkside returns to the pitch on Friday afternoon, opening its final homestand of the season at 1:15 p.m. against William Jewell College at Wood Road Field.
