(Oct. 23, 2015)-- Lexi Porter's first collegiate goal was a memorable one, finding the back of the net in double overtime to lift the University of Wisconsin-Parkside past William Jewell College on Friday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer showdown at Wood Road Field.

Porter tallied her first career goal in the 103rd minute, hitting the ball into the lower right corner of the net off a feed from
Vianey Hernandez to give the host Rangers (6-7-2, 5-6-2 GLVC) the come-from-behind victory.

The visiting Cardinals (6-7-3, 4-7-2 GLVC) drew first blood with Jade Gifford scoring from 30-yards out in the 17th minute. William Jewell owned a 1-0 edge at the halftime break despite getting outshot by a 15-4 margin.

UW-Parkside continued to generate more opportunities in the second half, finally punching through in the 87th minute with
Jillian Hetfleisch scoring her sixth goal of the year from just inside the six-yard box. Hernandez provided the assist, finishing the afternoon with two helpers for the second game this season.

The Rangers capped off the afternoon with a 35-7 edge in shots, including 10 of the 14 shots taken on goal. UW-Parkside accounted for seven of the nine shots taken in the 13 minutes of overtime played.

Sarah Dobrowolski tallied two saves to claim the win while WJC's Alex Dressman stopped eight shots in the losing effort.

Parkside closes out its home schedule on Sunday, hosting Rockhurst University on Senior Day with kickoff slated for 12 p.m.
