(Oct. 17, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad finished out the eighth annual Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament without dropping a set, including a 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-21) victory over Michigan Technological University at the Great Lakes Volleyball Center.

The opening set was all Parkside (15-6). Already with a three point lead early in the first set, the Rangers went on an 8-1 run, including four kills from
Lexi Turek and a five serve run from
Jessi Mainczyk. Â UW-Parkside rolled to a 25-11 win.

Michigan Tech (15-6) took an early lead in the second set, but Parkside came back and held off the Huskies 25-23. The Rangers had to stop a late charge from the Huskies in the third set. With a one point 22-21 lead, Parkside subbed in
Abby Verheyen to serve out the final three points of the match, winning 25-21.

Parkside was led offensively for the match by
Jackie Langer's 17 kills and
Lauren Hickson's 31 assists. Defensively,
Meghan Conley had 12 digs and
Jessi Mainczyk had 11. Â
Rebecca Roembke was named to the All-Tournament Team with 37 kills, averaging 4 per set, and a .378 hitting percentage for the weekend.

The Rangers head to southern Illinois Friday for a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup against East Division rival McKendree University.
