SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 31, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball team remained unbeaten inside DeSimone Gymnasium this season and extended its win streak to nine on Saturday afternoon, scoring the final six points of the game to claim a 59-54 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division nemesis Saint Joseph's College.

A Kalea Parks jumper with 1:52 remaining in the game gave the visiting Pumas (8-13, 4-7 GLVC) their first and ultimately last lead of the contest at 54-53. The Rangers (16-4, 9-2 GLVC) tied the game 14 seconds later on a Jennifer Blunt free throw and held the Pumas scoreless the rest of the way as Jessica Prince and Sarah Mlachnik each generated a turnover while Kristin Conniff hit all four of her free throws in the final 39 seconds to keep the win streak alive.

UW-Parkside scored the game's first eight points but Saint Joseph's fought back with the Rangers leading by just two points at 26-24 after 20 minutes of play. Parkside tallied 13 of the first 16 points in the second half, enjoying its largest lead of the game at 39-27 with 15:18 left after Stephanie Furr completed a three the old fashioned way, converting a layup and a free throw.

Saint Joseph's utilized an 12-2 run over a four minute stretch to pull within one with 9:25 remaining but back-to-back threes from Furr and Conniff pushed the Parkside buffer back up to seven with 8:10 remaining. The Pumas continued to chip away, tying the game at 52 with 2:22 left before seizing their lone lead with 1:52 left.

Four Rangers ended the day in double figures with Jessica Prince and Conniff leading the way with 11 points apiece. Conniff added four assists while Prince grabbed six rebounds. Furr added 10 points while Jennifer Blunt chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
