Ranger Dual Results

SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 17, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling team won their dual against the University of Indianapolis, but dropped two versus University of Findlay and Augustana College while hosting the Ranger Duals in the Petretti Fieldhouse.
 
Nick Fishback (165-pounds) led the Rangers by going 3-0 on the day.  He won his opening match with a pin at 2:39 against Findlay.  Indianapolis forfeited the 165 weight class match against Fishback.  In his final match, Nick won in a 5-0 decision against Augustana.
 
UW-Parkside lost their opening matchup at the Ranger Duals against Findlay 22-15, which included the pin fall from Nick Fishback and wins by Joseph Her, Brandt Welcher, and Mike Romanelli.  For the second dual, Parkside dominated the Greyhounds with a 28-10 win, including an overtime win from Matt Halverson at 285-pounds.  In the final round of the day, the Rangers lost to Augustana 30-6.  Joseph Her and Nick Fishback scored the only wins for the team and stopping a shutout by the Vikings.
 
157 pounder, Brandt Welcher won both of his matches by 3-1 and 8-3 decisions respectively.  Daniel Argueta (149-pounds) won his only match in a bout against Indianapolis with a 3-2 decision.  Both Joseph Her (133-pounds) and Mike Romanelli (184-pounds) went 2-1 for the Rangers on the day. 
 
Matt Halverson (285-pounds), Brett Scoles (174-pounds), and Adam Yde (141-pounds) all went 1-2 for the day, each scoring their victories against Indianapolis.  Zach Noel (157-pounds), Aaron Heidersheid (149-pounds), Ronzel Darling (125-pounds), and Jake Armellani (197-pounds) also competed but were unable to win their matches.
 
The Rangers return to action next week Thursday on the road against Concordia University in Mequon, WI.
