SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 10, 2015)-- A balanced scoring attack proved to be a winning formula for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon, extending its win streak to three games by defeating the University of Missouri-Saint Louis 76-68 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference clash inside DeSimone Gymnasium.

The host Rangers (10-4, 3-2 GLVC) scorched the nets from three-point range in the first half, shooting 53.3 percent (eight-for-15) from the perimeter and enjoyed a 35-24 lead at the halftime intermission. The opening 13 minutes witnessed four lead changes and one tie with the Tritons (6-6, 2-2 GLVC) owning a slim 20-19 lead with 7:25 remaining. Stephanie Furr hit a jumper to put UW-Parkside back in front, sparking a 15-2 run. Brittney Fair hit two threes during the run, giving the hosts a 34-22 buffer with 1:45 left in the half. The Rangers played with a lead the rest of the ballgame, emerging with the win to remain unbeaten at home this season.

UMSL threated late in the game, mounting an 8-2 run to pull within a possession at 69-66 with 1:17 left off a Alexis Lawrence three. The Rangers converted seven of their eight free throws down the stretch while limiting the Tritons to just one bucket during that span to secure the eight-point win.

Four Rangers ended the day in double figures with Gaby Bronson leading the way with 22 points and six boards. Fair had a season-high 15 points off the bench, hitting three threes while Tara Knapstein tallied 13 points and five assists. Kristin Conniff was the fourth Ranger in double figures, piling on 11 points with nine coming from beyond the arc.

Lawrence led UMSL with 17 points while Jordan Fletcher added 15 points and nine rebounds. Kelly Kunkel and Kelly McGovern added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

UW-Parkside hit just 38.9 percent (21-for-54) of its shots from the floor but was dialed in from distance, sinking 11 threes on the afternoon. UMSL finished shooting 52.0 percent (26-for-50) from the field, including a 58.6 percent (17-for-29) clip in the second 20 minutes of action. The Rangers sunk 23 of their 27 attempts (85.2 percent) from the charity stripe, including 18 of their 20 attempts (90 percent) in the second half while the Tritons made just 12 trips to the free throw line all game. Parkside finished with 13 steals, generating 18 UMSL turnovers and owned a 20-8 edge in points off turnovers.

The Rangers remain home next week, returning to the court on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to take on the University of Illinois Springfield.
