EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 26, 2014)-- Marcos Perez stymied 12 shots on the night while Nemanja Medic tallied the contest's lone score as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team blanked host University of Southern Indiana 1-0 on Friday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at Strassweg Field.

Medic tallied his team-leading fifth score of the season in the 32nd minute off a feed from Ryan Shogren. The Ranger enjoyed the one goal lead at the half despite being outshot by an 11-7 margin.

UW-Parkside was reduced to 10-men with 35 minutes left in the game while Southern Indiana earned a red card in the 78th minute as the last 12 minutes were played 10 on 10.

The Screaming Eagles belted 16 of the 17 shots in the second half, including seven of the eight on goal but were unable to get past Perez as the Rangers collected the shutout win.

Perez logged all 90 minutes between the posts, notching a season-best 12 saves. His counterpart, Auston Brudar made three saves in the losing effort.

The Rangers close out their four-game road swing on Sunday, taking on the University of Illinois Springfield at 2:30 p.m.
