Box ScoreSOMERS, Wis. (Nov. 8, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team won their final match of the season with a 3-2 (25-15, 23-25, 25-20, 25-27, 15-12) win over University of Illinois Springfield in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Rangers (15-13, 8-10 GLVC) opened up the five set match with a commanding 25-15 win over the Prairie Stars (10-18, 2-16 GLVC) with two separate six serve runs from
Megan Pekarek. Illinois Springfield came back in a close second set that edged out Parkside 25-23.

Returning the favor, the Rangers never trailed and won a close third set by winning 25-20. Parkside trailed in the fourth set 23-24 when
Lauren Hickson scored on a kill that tied the score. The Prairie Stars battled through and won the match 27-25.

In the final set, the Rangers were behind 6-7 when
Jackie Langer tied the game with one of her team high 25 kills, and the team battled their way to a 15-12 win on Senior Day.

Defensively,
Meghan Conley led the team with 27 digs as the libero.Â
Megan Pekarek racked up 52 assists in the match.

Prior to the match, the team honored their only senior,
Lisa Gregerson. The outside hitter played in 51 matches over the past two seasons, appearing in 156 sets with 284 kills, 41 digs, and 52 blocks. Lisa was accompanied by her parents Duke and Cindy during the pregame presentation.
