Box ScoreSOMERS, Wis. (Nov. 2, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team won the opening set of the match, but was edged out at home by Drury University and lost 3-2 (21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 15-11) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Rangers (14-12, 7-9 GLVC) opened up the five set match with a 25-21 win over the Panthers (15-10, 6-10 GLVC) and a final point kill by
Sonja Burnson.

Drury answered with two close wins, beating Parkside 25-20 and 25-23. The Rangers came back with a strong win in the fourth set by winning 25-18, which was supported by five serve runs from both
Rebecca Roembke and
Meghan Conley. The Panthers returned the favor in the final set by running away with the win 15-11.

Jackie Langer led the team with 14 kills, and put up 25 digs.Â
Megan Pekarek was the Rangers leader in assists with 44, and she also stepped up with 11 digs. Â
Rebecca Roembke and
Allyn Krenz helped the Ranger attack with 12 and 10 kills respectively.

The Rangers continue their home stand this Friday with a 7pm match against GLVC East rival McKendree University.
