SOMERS, Wis. (Oct. 24, 2014)-- The sixth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team inched closer to claiming its first Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season crown since 2008 on Friday afternoon, blasting the University of Indianapolis 3-0 at Wood Road Field for the squad's sixth-straight victory.

Taylor Schiffer-Jander opened the scoring in the 18th minute, beating the keeper with a shot after Jillian Hetfleisch served the ball into the box from the left side. The goal was Schiffer-Jander's fifth of the season. The Rangers (13-0-2, 11-0-2 GLVC) enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the halftime intermission, outshooting the visiting Greyhounds (4-8-4, 3-6-4 GLVC) by a commanding 13-2 margin.

Bailey Reed doubled the Ranger lead in the 71st minute, scoring off a Jae Jay Usab pass for goal number three of the year while Kiley Kreple netted her first career goal just three minutes later off a long pass from Niekie Pellens. The assist was Pellens' GLVC-leading 10th of the season.

Mallory Geurts collected two saves in goal as the Rangers posted their 11th shutout of the season. UIndy's Megan Fee tallied seven saves while yielding three goals in the losing effort.

UW-Parkside controls its own destiny within the GLVC with two regular season games to play. The Rangers can earn a share of the league title with a win on Sunday or a loss by second-place Bellarmine University, and can claim the title outright with both scenarios occurring. The Rangers have previously won regular season titles in 2004 and 2008 while having claimed GLVC Tournament titles in 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2010 all under the direction of Head Coach Troy Fabiano.

The Rangers return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon. facing Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana at 2:30 p.m.
