(Oct. 24, 2014)-- Neither squad was able to find the back of the net after 110 minutes of action as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad and the University of Indianapolis played to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Friday afternoon in a Great Lakes Valley Conference clash at Wood Road Field.
Goalkeeper
Marcos Perez turned away 10 shots on the afternoon, helping the Rangers (8-7-1, 5-7-1 GLVC) log their sixth shutout of the season. UW-Parkside finished the contest with eight total shots with
Ryan Shogren and
Nemanja Medic each booting a pair during the game. The Greyhounds (8-4-3, 8-3-2 GLVC) owned a slim 5-4 advantage in shots after 45 minutes of play before outgunning the hosts by a 21-4 margin the rest of the way, including all 10 shots on frame.
The Rangers took seven corner kicks but was unable to convert those opportunities into points in the squad's first draw of the year. The tie snapped UIndy's win streak at three games.
UW-Parkside returns to the pitch on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Rensselaer, Indiana to face Saint Joseph's College. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.
