SOMERS, Wis. (Oct. 19, 2014)-- Emily Konior was a one-woman wrecking crew on Sunday afternoon, providing a goal in each half as the 12th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer squad slipped past its second regionally-ranked foe of the weekend, downing Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Quincy University 2-1 on Senior Day at Wood Road Field.

The GLVC-leading Rangers (12-0-2, 10-0-2 GLVC) struck first with Konior drilling a shot from 30 yards out on a free kick in the 21st minute of play. The Hawks (7-6-2, 6-4-2 GLVC), ranked 10th in the Midwest Region, equalized the score in the 32nd minute with Mackenzie Rief notching a goal on a ball misplayed by the Rangers' goalkeeper. Despite the Rangers owning a 12-3 edge in shots, the contest was deadlocked at 1-1 after the opening stanza.

A Quincy handball in the box gave the Rangers a penalty kick in the 74th minute. Konior calmly outfoxed the Quincy keeper, scoring her team-leading eighth goal in what proved to be the final score of the afternoon. It was the senior's fourth game winner of the 2014 campaign and her second game-winner of the weekend, providing the winning score over Truman State University on Friday.

UW-Parkside dominated the game statistically, holding a 28-4 advantage in shots, including 11 of the 12 on frame while owning a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.

Mallory Geurts claimed the win in goal, logging all 90 minutes while Quincy's Megan Swanson suffered the loss, making nine saves in the losing effort.

Sunday's contest was Senior Day with the squad honoring Kelsey Armour, Emily Konior, Karley Mecko and Ashley Meyer. The four seniors own a 53-14-8 record over the past four seasons, including a mind-boggling 30-1-5 mark in games played at Wood Road Field.

Parkside returns to action on Friday afternoon, hosting the University of Indianapolis at 3:30 p.m.
