(Oct. 12, 2014)-- Yielding a goal late in both halves of play the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer team was upended 2-1 by Great Lakes Valley Conference rival University of Missouri-Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon at Don Dallas Field.
The visiting Rangers (7-6, 4-6 GLVC) opened the scoring in the 31st minute with
Abraham Kanneh netting his sixth goal of the season on a header off a feed from
Nemanja Medic. The Tritons (9-2-1, 8-2 GLVC) equalized the score just one second before time expired in the opening half with Michael Schlemper heading in the ball off a corner kick.
UMSL's Jon Huelsman provided the dagger in the 86th minute, scoring the game winner off a pass from Tyler Collico to conclude the scoring.
Missouri-Saint Louis outshot the Rangers 12-2 in the first half and finished the game with a 21-8 edge in shots.
Ranger goalkeeper
Marcos Perez played all 90 minutes in net, making three saves in the losing effort. His counterpart Nick Lenkman tallied a pair of saves.
The Rangers return home to Wood Road Field on Friday, hosting Truman State University at 1:15 p.m.
