(Oct. 1, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's soccer squad extended its win streak to three on Wednesday afternoon, dismantling Oakland City University 6-0 in a non-conference affair at Wood Road Field. Four Rangers tallied goals in the game, including two off the boot of
Jorge Ontiveros.
The Rangers (5-4) grabbed the lead in the sixth minute with an own goal before
Scott Nicolai tallied his first collegiate goal in the 43rd minute off a
Jesus Oseguera pass, giving the hosts a 2-0 edge.
Evan Garcia netted his first career goal in the 69th minute off a feed from
Ryan Shogren before Ontiveros netted two scored in a nine minute window. Ontiveros buried a shots from 30 yards out in the 72nd minute before scoring off a
Nemanja Medic assist in the 81st minute. Medic concluded the Ranger scoring with a laser in the 85th minute.
UW-Parkside finished the contest outshooting the Mighty Oaks (5-3) by an 18-12 margin while owning an 8-6 edge in shots on target.
Marcos Perez made six saves, logging his third consecutive clean sheet. Perez and the Ranger defense have now gone 301 minutes without yielding a goal, a streak spanning four games.
Parkside continues its homestand on Friday afternoon, hosting Bellarmine University at 1:15 p.m.
