SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 18, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad took on a trio of nationally-ranked squads on Saturday at the annual Ranger Duals inside DeSimone Gymnasium. The Rangers fell 24-18 to 10th-ranked University of Indianapolis before stumbling 38-3 to third-ranked Saint Cloud State University and 32-5 to 15th-ranked McKendree University.
In the opening match, the Rangers (3-6) and Greyhounds (5-5) were tied heading into the final match of the dual before the Greyhounds' Evan Wooding won by pin to secure the match for the 10th-ranked squad.
Joseph Her tallied the first six points for UW-Parkside, winning the 133-pound weight class by forfeit.
Daniel Argueta nipped Sheldon Struble 3-0 at 157-pounds while
Nick Fishback won 2-1 om sudden victory at 165 pounds.
Montrail Johnson downed Shelby Mappes 12-8 at 174 pounds before
Josh Anthony claimed a 6-4 sudden victory at 184 pounds.
Anthony secured the squad's lone win against the third-ranked Huskies (10-1), downing Dylon Braun 8-5 at 184 pounds. Anthony closed the afternoon a perfect 3-0 with a 17-2 tech fall victory over McKendree's (8-2) Andrew Krawulski.
The Rangers are back in action on Thursday night at 7 p.m., traveling north to take on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
