SOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 17, 2013)-- Rallying from an early deficit and stepping up when it mattered most, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside downed Northern Michigan University in a five-set non-conference thriller, 3-2 (20-25, 25-16, 25-22, 19-25, 19-17), inside DeSimone Gymnasium on Tuesday.
The Rangers (6-3) looked to be in control of the decisive fifth set, staking a 3-0 advantage but the pesky Wildcats (6-3) hung tough, crawling back from a 10-4 hole to knot the set at 12 apiece, forcing a UW-Parkside timeout. In set two, the Rangers never trailed, netting the 25-16 win before weathering a late rally to secure the third set 25-22. The Wildcats led wire-to-wire in set four, claiming the 25-19 win to force a winner take all fifth set.
